This was an unforgettable journey to Ethiopia! Many thanks to Helena and her team Terra Incognita Tour Operation for a wonderfully prepared tour. We have seen many tribes, learned about their customs and found out many interesting things about their life. Helena told us so many stories about wonderful country Ethiopia, that for a long time we shared them with our friends. Our trip was wonderful, i am sure, because we chose Terra Incognita and Helena. Helena is a guide of highest qualification, her excursions and tours and thought out to the tiniest detail, her stories about Ethiopia, its towns, nature, history and people are most interesting, enthralling and informative. Her choice of hotels for us during our tour is flawless: they were really best quality hotels. DUring the trip we didn't have to worry, since all was well organized, attached, thought out and calculated. We were pleased to see how local people relate to us and our guide (hotel employees, local guides, airport staff, drivers, museum and church caretakers, priests and guards). We saw heartwarming expression of friendship, attachment and gratitude. This is because Helena loves this country and we understand reasons of this love, too
In December 2015 I came to Ethiopia for the fifth time. This time I was interested history of Abyssinia (North Ethiopia, monolithic churches of Lalibela, Axum with granite steles and churches, history of Axumite empire and Queen of Sheba). We, five musicians of Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, came to Ethiopia to visit tribes of the south, living in the late stone age. It so happened that we contacted Terra Incognita Tour Operation and its owner Helena. After our trip I can confirm, that to speak about her in superlative mode is to say nothing. Awsome range of knowledge of the country: history, geography, customs - are impressove! In the beginning, when she used to say "my people, my country", it was strange to hear, even though she came to Ethiopia about 30 years ago. But then I understood, that she sincerely loves this country as her own, and grew into Ethiopian culture. Of course, knowledge of amharic language is important, too. We had a feeling, that everybody knows her anf she knows everybody, even in most remote and uncivilized places. We were amazed by her professionalism. Everything beside her works as Swiss watch.
